Príncipe: Monte Cristo roads to Abade will be rehabilitated

The Autonomous Region of the Príncipe will have in 9 months rehabilitated roads from Monte Cristo to the Abade.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Teodorico de Campos, laid the foundation stone for the rehabilitation of the roads that ensure the connection from Monte Cristo to Abade in Príncipe.

The roads will be on clay, the works are scheduled to last for 9 months and are being financed by the African Development Bank (ADB), in more than a billion new Dobras.

The ceremony for launching the works was attended by the representative of the Prince’s Regional Government, Francisco Gula, and the PRIASA II Project Coordinator, Ayara Trigueiros.

PRIASA is the institution that coordinates the funds of these works. It should be recalled that the rehabilitation of rural roads to facilitate the movement of people and goods from the countryside to the city and vice versa is one of the actions of PRIASA II, which has 21 million dollars by 2020.

Of the $ 21 million, the Sao Tome and Príncipe State contributes only $ 990,000, the African Development Fund (ADF) of the African Development Bank (ADB) guarantees $ 16 million and $ 3.5 million GEF.
